Gearing the Axles

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

Well part of my job is to install my gears and lockers (4.88:1 gearing and ARB axles).  After getting irritated with my lack of quality workspace at the house I called up Ryan Brown and went down there to use his tools and work space.  In an afternoon I had both axles geared and locked.

Rock and roll!

Pile of Parts

Sunday, October 22nd, 2006

With Johnson Valley coming up fast it was time to get all my parts sorted out and on the Jeep. I took a free afternoon to haul all my parts out of the garage, organize them, and prep them for install in the scant four weeks before Johnson Valley (and I can only work on weekends)!

What we have there are a Dana 30 and Dana 44 with gears (4.88:1) and lockers (ARB) to be installed, TNT Y-Link control arms (the belly pan is already on the Jeep), two additional leaves to put in my pack, coil springs, a 231 that needs to be freshened up and SYE’d, shackles, freshly painted rock rails, and various other items. This is going to be a busy few weeks…
