As you may remember I bought my ’96 Cherokee in June of last year as a fixer upper. Time to finally make it run again.

Now I’ve had Jeeps for ten years now. I’ve had a lot of little problems (and a few big ones) over the years, a few of them out of the ordinary, but this is the most bizarre issue I’ve ever seen on a Jeep….

Well I ended up finding a smoking deal on a fully loaded ’96 Cherokee Country on NAXJA so, as usual, I snapped it up. The vehicle has a straight body and a decent interior (needs a bit of love but nothing too bad), about 2″ of lift with 30′s, and major mechanical problems. The engine has, at minimum, bad rod bearings and the transmission won’t go backward. Both of these issues are what brought it down to under $1,000 but they don’t scare me. No sir I’ll fix it right up and drive it in style!
