Ugly Rack

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

So I saw a rack at the bone yard just in time for the upcoming SoCal fest so I bought it.  The Jeep it was on had been in a fire so I had to do a bit of work to the rack in order to get it ready.  I ended up using Yakima 1A gutter mounts and 1″x1″ square tubing to mount it.  One of these days I’ll mount it better but this will get me by for now; I will only mount this ugly SOB when I’m actively using it.

Axle Orgy

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

Well after heading over to Rons and picking up my freshly sandblasted axles and the axles for the Chief (I bumped up to 3.55:1) I’ve got a bit of an orgy going on in the garage…

Full Guages

Thursday, March 30th, 2006

Well I got tired of the idiot lights in the Chief pretty quickly so I went to the yard.  I found this early style full cluster and snapped it up.  I even went the extra mile by adjusting the odometer to reflect the correct mileage.

“New” Jeep!

Monday, March 13th, 2006

Well my buddy Cal hooked me up with a deal for a $500.00 Jeep, it was too good a deal to pass up so I jumped on it.  It’s a 1988 Jeep Cherokee Chief, two door, with a freshly rebuilt 4.0, manual transmission that needs to be changed (Peugeot BA/10, I will replace it with an Asin Warner AX-15), an NP231 transfer case, and a Dana 35 with four broken teeth (no big deal at all).  The only down side is that it’s an awful color and the interior is not only tan but also very abused.

This will be my daily driver, I won’t be lifting it and all that junk.
